Predicting Madden 2012 Player Ratings: Rookie WRs

I am posting Madden Ratings for the NFL rookies that I created based on my player and game knowledge. I encourage everyone to comment and share their thoughts so that we can come up with accurate ratings.  These are not set in stone, just wanted to throw em out there to see if it has merit or attracts interest. I’ve been playing John Madden football since I owned a Sega Genesis in the early 90s and analyzing the NFL for the last ten.  I’ll put my spin on it, since EA isn’t infallible (Alualu was a 69 last year).

A.J. and Julio should impact games like Dez

I started by creating my own ratings on a spreadsheet and then comparing them to past rookie ratings.  For example, after I created by ratings I compared Cobb to Golden Tate and Salas to Jordan Shipley.  Also check out the Madden 2012 Preview and Six Changes to Franchise Mode. What do you think?

Could you be more specific? I did ask for opinions … used past rookie rankings and my own observations to rate players. They don’t look great, but I think they are pretty close. For example: at first I wanted to give AJ Green around a 85-87 but Madden 12 announced Patrick Peterson was the top rated player at 83. I did this to start a discussion, so please discuss.

I think u did a good job.. Only thing I would argue is that they look a little too close in ratings but overally good.

Julio Jones, who’s runs the best routes out of any of those chumps, and you gave him a 82….. do you even watch college football???

That’s a valid point, moved him up in that category. Calling A.J. Green a chump is hilarious.

If A.J. Green had a 84 overall i would have paid you to make that roster

This was prob pretty accurate, Aj should be higher on acc and Julio should be better on route running. Julio is gonna be the best rookie receiver guaranteed, he is a monster. go falcons

I would rate Green a little faster maybe a 90 and Little stronger at least 75 he is a big guy and did the most bench press out of the WR class

Greg Little should have 70 strength or better. 6″2 225 and a former running back he would have btter blocking and ball protection as well.

funny cuz julio jones has a better jump in scouting combine than aj green did so messed up that part. ohh and aj green should be a 60 speed cuz hes a slow black.
