NFL Draft – Senior Bowl Tuesday Notes

OFFENSIVE LINE

Derrek Sherrod: The most impressive of the group, looking at past results its hard to argue that the Mississippi State alum won’t be a solid first rounder. Very skilled technician, compares favorably to Sam Baker.  Certain LT.

DeMarcus Love: Struggles with speed given his length, but once he gets his hands on you he can dominate. Move to guard seems like after getting destroyed by OSU in bowl game and showing thus far.

Lee Zimba: More of a right tackle than left, play with finess not a nasty streak.  Kinda funny considering he was the All-American selection at LT.

Danny Watkins: The guard from Baylor was very impressive on Tuesday and looks to be ready to start Day One in the NFL.

QUARTERBACK

Christian Ponder: Ponder has a ton of talent and athleticism, but he’s inaccurate, erratic, and a poor decision-maker.

Ricky Stanzi: Came into this week w/an open mind and he has done well, probably the best of all the QBs with his accuracy but that’s not saying much.

Colin Kaepernick: Been following this man since his freshman year four years ago.  Colin has a huge arm but is not ready to make all the throw now, especially coming from the Pistol formation at Nevada.  Has good speed and an excellent long-strider.  Certainly worth a decent draft pick as there is a ton of talent to work with.  6’6 by the way.

DEFENSE

Von Miller: ripped and ridic rusher.  Some question size and coverage ability but when it comes down to it, he gets it done!

Cam Jordan: Dominated in the one-on-one drills yesterday and was the talk of many scouts.

Ryan Kerrigan: Love this guy, has been a stud all year.  Has done everything I expected and more, all 3-4 Ds most love.

Standout Star

Titus Young: One of my top five receivers has been receiving all sorts of praise from scouts this week.  He has very good speed and does especially well running inside the numbers. Drawling comparisons to DeSean Jackson.
