Week 7 Pickups

Matt Cassel-getting more comfortable in the offense and should continue to show improvement. Gets a terrible Jax secondary next*

Matt Stafford-the Lions offense has functioned well without the former #1 pick and he should return after the bye. Burleson has looked good in his return and both tight ends have complimented Calvin well.

Chris Ivory-been touting him for weeks and was one of the few that started him last week.  He finally broke out with 16 points.  Depending on Thomas’ status, should be valuable for a few more weeks.

Mike Williams-caught 10 balls on Sunday and clearly is the main man in Seattle.  Had a strong preseason, indications are that this was his breakout, Hasselbeck looked like 08 not 09 QB.

Deion Branch-Picked up where he left off 5 years ago, caught 9 catches with 7 coming in the 4th or overtime. Pats will spread the ball but clearly Branch is back and Brady trusts him.

Danario Alexander-the former Mizzou Tiger who used to be ahead of Maclin on the depth chart dazzled in his debut and could be Bradford’s new #1. Got as many targets as Gibson.

Michael Jenkins-made his season debut with 99 yards. This production shouldn’t be expected but he could useful in deeper leagues.

Danny Woodhead-I’ve recommended him before but he is especially appealing if you’re league has him WR eligible. Performed very well on a day where Green-Ellis struggled and has assumed the Faulk-role in offense.

Others

  • Starks: sleeper, upside
  • Pettigrew: has been solid
  • Avant: fills in w/DJax out
