Tuesday’s NFL Injury Report
Lots of injury news today, some inconsequential but others will certainly make an impact on teams. For example, with their current roster one has to assume that Green Bay will be forced to throw the ball more. All off-season I criticized Green Bay for not upgrading their depth behind Grant or drafting a player high in the draft. Now Ryan Grant is done for the year and I suspect this will have a bigger impact on the team than a lot of people are suggesting.
OUTRyan Grant-placed on IR. Brandon Jackson becomes the waiver wire gem of week one. Never a huge fan but good hands and blocking skills. Green Bay signed rookie Nance from Atlanta. The Arizona State product could be the best inside the tackles runner on the roster or by the end of the season. Bob Sanders-Done once again. Pretty close to missing more games than has played in. Indy is used to it, Bullit solid enough but come’on man! Kris Jenkins-out for the year. Used to it but will hurt. Max Unger-promising young prospect is out for the season. Paul Posluszny-injuries continue for Buffalo’s linebackers. Expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Jared Odrick-out six weeks with a broken fibula. Dolphins REALLY thin upfront. Kevin Kolb–won’t practice at earliest Friday. Vick very likely to start in my opinion. Anthony Gonzalez and Kevin Boss are both expected to be out for week two. Jake Delhomme is reportedly in a boot and doubtful for Sunday. Seneca Wallace would be the starter and after seeing the Jake of last year this past Sunday Browns fans should be optimistic.
INBeanie Wells is expected back for week 2. After two fumbles by Hightower he’s probably going to get the opportunity to be the workhorse. Ladarius Webb is questionable, could be back for week 2. This guy can fly, Ravens smartly taking time with his return.
Traded: L. Maroney from Pats to Broncos.
- Possible goaline back if they are convinced that Buckhalter can’t stay healthy.
